Gravy

Posted by lotsalittlelambs

Here’s a gravy recipe for turkey, mashed cauliflower (or potatoes), or biscuits. What is gravy NOT good on?

This is an S if following Trim Healthy Mama.

Gravy

  • 4 cups drippings (juices from turkey, from bottom of roaster)
  • 2 cups cream OR 1 – 13.5 ounce can coconut milk (for dairy free)
  • 1/3 cup oat fiber
  • 1 teaspoon gluccomannan
  • 3 teaspoons real salt, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper or to taste

Directions:

Measure and pour drippings into skillet. Bring to a boil.

Combine oat fiber, gluccomannan, salt and pepper. Mix well. Then stir into the cream.

Pour the cream mixture by a small stream into the drippings, while whisking vigorously. Bring back to a boil. Turn to low and cook longer if desired, or to keep warm till serving.

Note:

I like to cook my turkey in a big cast iron Dutch oven, or a roaster.
